In-Home Grooming

Also called “private” or “house call” grooming, in-home grooming is a convenient and increasingly popular alternative to salon services. Some clients prefer in-home grooming because their dogs are anxious or agitated in a salon setting. Others are seeking a more comfortable environment for a new puppy’s first grooming experience or for a senior or frail dog that is not comfortable away from home. And many others simply prefer the convenience and control of in-home services.

Why choose in-home grooming?

Grooming a dog in his/her own home can be significantly less stressful than a salon grooming. Most salons crate dogs before or after grooming and the environment of stressed dogs and loud dryers can be hard on them. Some salons also use cage dryers to streamline the grooming process and permit one groomer to work on more than one at a time, but cage drying can be uncomfortable, does not produce a finished look, and is potentially hazardous.

An in-home groomer is able to focus all her energy and attention on your dog, with none of the added noise and distraction of caged dogs and additional clippers and dryers. Calming Cuts Dog Grooming aims to make the grooming experience as low-stress as possible while achieving an excellent finished look. We use all-natural products, aromatherapy, and a gentle approach to keep your dog as comfortable as possible.

How Does In-Home Grooming Work?

Our grooming table and tools are portable so we can set them up almost anywhere in your home or garage, or—weather permitting—on your driveway, patio, or lawn. For bathing, we need to use a sink, tub, or shower in your home—whatever works for you. Because we transport our tools, we need to be able to park near your home. Depending on the dog’s size, a full grooming can take several hours.
